Craving Fresh Air

I really can’t breathe

My head hurts

My gums are bleeding

I barely understand why

I’d save you the gory details

But, my reality overwhelms me

You know, it’s quite baffling

The amount of time spent marching,

Yet we still find ourselves trembling

What’s in the air?

The smells of fear, hate and despair

Oh, how suffocating!

the idea that one can be one with an essence so deadly, yet so comfortable!

“I can’t breathe,” is not just a phrase

It’s our feeling as a people

Yes! because fear chokes us

Hate divides us!

Truth is, we are not just inhaling

We are slowly dying

So, do the right thing!!!

And let love be our breath of fresh air
